So this is the start of my journey and the start of my travel blog. Though I’ve been thinking (and dreaming) about it for a while, I’ve recently decided with about 95% certainty that I will embark on a year long round the world adventure starting in January. At this point, I really don’t know how to plan for it, but I’m glad I have a buddy, Drew who has the same goal. I have a solid five months to plan my trip to make sure I get the most out of it.
So far, I’ve decided that I want to start by ski bumming somewhere in the US could be Utah, Colorado, or Alaska. If I can work as a ski instructor, live off of the minimal income, and get free skiing for 2 to 3 months, I will consider it a great success.
The other thought I had was to pick only 3 or 4 ‘hubs’ around the world to visit as a home base. This will make it easier to find accommodations and work as I travel. At the same time, I’ll have the opportunity to branch out and visit other places.
Just thinking about traveling is already energizing.
